Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our services.
How far do you travel?
We are based in Traverse City, MI, but we provide services across all of Northern Michigan. Contact us to discuss your specific venue location!
Do we get to pick the music?
Absolutely! It's your event. We work with you closely to build a "Must Play" list and, equally importantly, a "Do Not Play" list. We take those requests and mix them seamlessly with tracks proven to keep the dance floor packed.
Do you act as the MC?
Yes. We professionally handle all announcements, grand entrances, toast introductions, and special dances to ensure your timeline runs smoothly.
Do you provide ceremony audio?
Yes, we offer dedicated ceremony audio packages ensuring your vows are heard perfectly, whether you're indoors or outdoors on the beach.
How do we book you?
Just reach out via our contact form or give us a call. We'll check our availability for your date and set up a consultation to learn more about your vision.
What happens if there is an emergency or you get sick?
We operate as a father/son team, meaning we have a built-in, trusted safety net. In the extremely rare event of a severe emergency, we network closely with Northern Michigan's highest-tier professional DJs to ensure your event is fully covered.
Do you carry backup equipment?
Always. We bring redundant setups to every single event. This means backup mixers, duplicate music libraries on separate hardware, extra wireless microphones, and backup cables. If a piece of hardware fails, the party doesn't stop.
How do you handle inappropriate guest requests?
With absolute professionalism and aggressive politeness. If a guest requests a song that is on your "Do Not Play" list, or simply ruins the vibe you are going for, we smile, tell them "We'll see if we can fit it in," and then we completely ignore it to protect your dance floor.
Why is there such a wide range in DJ pricing?
You can find a "DJ" for $500, and you can find a DJ for $3000. Lower price points typically reflect hobbyists using consumer-grade gear, pre-recorded Spotify playlists, and minimal event preparation. Premium pricing reflects massive investments in hardware redundancy, club-grade audio (which prevents ear fatigue and echoing), and the decades of experience required to flawlessly read a room and manage your timeline.
