Ask any professional wedding filmmaker in Northern Michigan what their biggest challenge is, and the answer is almost always "Audio." A breathtaking 4K drone shot over Traverse Bay loses its emotional impact if the vows overlaid on it sound muffled, windy, or overly compressed. We consider it our mission to provide videographers with the cleanest, highest-fidelity audio signals possible.

The Clean Feed Workflow

We don't just point a cheap speaker at the audience and call it a day. Our entire audio chain is designed for broadcast-level recording.

• Direct Line-Outs: We provide dedicated, isolated outputs directly from our Pioneer DJ mixing boards to the videographer's digital recorders. This bypasses the room acoustics entirely, capturing the speech directly from the microphone.
• Redundancy is Key: In addition to providing feeds, we run our own onboard recordings. If a videographer's gear fails or a battery dies right at the climax of the Best Man's speech, we have the flawless backup file ready to send them.
• Discreet Ceremony Mic Deployment: During the ceremony, we utilize ultra-low-profile lavalier (lapel) microphones that are virtually invisible on camera, ensuring the visual aesthetics aren't ruined by bulky mic stands while still capturing crystal-clear audio.

Minimizing Wind Noise in Coastal Weddings

Lake Michigan is notorious for high winds, especially on the Leelanau Peninsula or Frankfort beaches. Videographers relying solely on on-camera microphones will quickly find their audio ruined by wind shear. We utilize specialized "dead cat" wind screens on appropriately placed outdoor microphones and use advanced equalization (EQ) to filter out low-frequency rumble before the audio ever hits their recorders.

When hiring a videographer, ensure they are technically proficient in taking diverse types of audio feeds (XLR, RCA, 1/4 inch) and ask them how they collaborate with the DJ to capture clean vows.
